Can I also view assets that my customer has registered?

No, you only see the assets that you added. The customer has an extended inventory list wich is not visible to you as a dealer and contains self registered assets.
 
You will only be able to see changes to the assets you have shared with the client. As soon as you add a new asset to the customer asset list, it is also visible and editable for the customer.
